CPR supplies

Confidence. Readiness.

During Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) only 15-30% of bystanders respond to the victim.(De Maio, et.al., 2001 & Lateef & Anantharaman, 2001) Of these individuals, 60-80% have had some form of CPR training.(Swor, Khan, Domeier, Honeycutt, Chu, & Compton, 2006) Annuvia believes these statistics are the direct result of three primary causes: poor training, lack of education, and fear of the unknown. While we believe the majority of this inaction can be attributed to poor and/or improper training (thus Annuvia has developed several customized training courses unique to the client, industry, and environment, thereby shattering barriers to response and greatly increasing action) we understand certain fears are directly related to responder-victim contact. This said, it is important to allow responders to utilize their learned skills and feel comfortable doing it. After all, being trained means nothing if you don't respond!

One of the leading reasons bystanders and lay rescuers do not respond is the perceived risk of disease transmission associated with CPR. For that reason, Annuvia believes it is vital to provide rescuers with the tools necessary to break through all barriers that may lead to a lack of response. Lay rescuers need to feel confident and ready.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Strikes Health Club Twice in Two Months. They say that lighting doesn’t strike twice in the same page, but a health club in Hayward, CA proved otherwise just a few weeks ago. Just six weeks after a man collapsed from SCA while exiting the sauna, another man suffers SCA at the same club.

A new CPR technique has become a national topic in recent news after studies have shown a higher survival rate compared commonly-taught CPR techniques. Called compression-only CPR, this method eliminates the use of mouth-to-mouth ventilation during CPR, and instead focuses on the need for fast, deep compressions.
